Instagram 3.0 is the latest version of the app that introduces a new feature called Photo Maps, which lets you organize and browse your photos based on where they were taken. Using geo-location, the app will arrange images on a map that you can zoom in and out, and see stacks of photos from different locations. You can also view other users' Photo Maps and see what they are capturing around the world.
Photo Maps is not only a fun way to explore your photos, but also a powerful tool to tell your story through them. You can choose which photos you want to include in your Photo Map, and create a visual diary of your travels, experiences, and memories. You can also discover new places and cultures by following other users who share their Photo Maps with you.
How to Use Photo Maps
To use Photo Maps, you need to update your Instagram app to version 3.0, which is available for both iOS and Android devices. Once you do that, you will see a new Map icon on your profile page, next to the Grid and Chronological icons. Tap on it to see your Photo Map for the first time.
The app will ask you to review your photos and select which ones you want to add to your Photo Map. You can deselect any photo that you don't want to include, or that doesn't have a location tag. You can also edit or remove any photo from your Photo Map later by tapping on the Edit button on the top right corner of the map.
Once you have your Photo Map ready, you can start exploring it by pinching and zooming on the map, and tapping on the stacks of photos to see them in full screen. You can also switch between Satellite and Standard views of the map by tapping on the button on the bottom left corner of the screen.
To view other users' Photo Maps, just go to their profile page and tap on the Map icon. You can only see the photos that they have chosen to share on their Photo Map, and that are public or visible to you. You can also like and comment on their photos as usual.
Why You Should Try Photo Maps
Photo Maps is more than just a new way to view your photos. It's also a new way to express yourself and connect with others on Instagram. Here are some reasons why you should try Photo Maps:
